"Between
the Suns"
Ro'i Raz
"Between The
Suns" is Ro'i Raz's(you can add a compliment here like "Beatifully
somthing...) debut album as a leader. It's name alludes to the transitional
point in time where one day has ended while the next one has yet
to begin, and thus brings along a twilight of mood and color and
a certain type of introspection which is only available at this
moment beyond time. The Album contains mostly Raz's original compositions
for his own classical guitar with changing ensembles at various
tracks, including flute, violin, cello, clarinets, bass, drums and
vocals, and spoken word.
The music on
the album draws on a wide range of musical genres, from classical
to jazz, to jewish or middle eastern sounds, all are of the composer's
interest, which merge together organically, creating a new and personal
language which is distinctively Raz's own. At times romantic, passionate,
fierce or philosophical, this album is scarfed with a sense of yearning
to a long time concealed face of reality. The quest for it in the
music, attempts to provide some glimpses to it and to usher the listener
through his/her own personal journey of searching for a long forsaken...
shore....
